BioThe Navajo Nation President, like most citizens across the Navajo Nation, is attempting to eliminate wasteful spending, inefficient government, and the further disenfranchisement of the Navajo people. It is obvious that the Navajo Nation government is in dire need of improvement. Inefficiencies abound in the delivery of services to our constituents. It is shameful that in this day and age we have so many that need so much while we lead the pack in government spending on administrative processes. Studies commissioned by the Council themselves have shown underperformance, overrepresentation, and inefficiencies.
Reducing the council will allow delegates to represent more constituents with a broader range of issues and will give local governance and decision making back to the people. The council has a civic duty to act in the best interest of their constituents not in the best interest of the council.
